8. The USA's USS America Aircraft Carrier

The ship, also known as "The Big A," has "Don't tread on me" as its motto. Among other fierce battles, the USS America participated in Desert Storm, Desert Shield, and the Vietnam War.

The Navy completed its testing on May 14, 2005, at 11:30 AM, and destroyed the ship. Off the coast of Cape Hatteras, the wreck is still intact. It is located 16,680 feet below the surface of the Atlantic Ocean.
